Acrylic and glazes on plexiglass
Beth Shapiro's abstract paintings are created through poured layers of translucent and opaque glazes onto clear acrylic sheeting. Her work is visually compelling—its transparencies reveal portions of the layers below, yet the luminosity and reflective character of the material does not quite allow the view to truly penetrate the surface.
